This past June marks the second year that I opened the doors to Loving Lessons and have been helping tired families get the sleep they need for their babies, toddlers, and preschoolers as well as some elementary aged children! It has been an absolute blessing to see a family transform their home environment by simply getting their children to sleep.
First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord who provides me with so many blessings everyday! I’m realizing more and more that the Lord hears our prayers and answers them in the most unexpected ways. Loving Lessons was born following my brother’s tragic car accident. Through the grieving process I began my personal transformation with various songs that spoke directly to me. One in particular is We Are by Kari Jobe It made me realize that we are more- more than we know and we share out light with our little ones and those around us. And it’s from tragedy, feeling like we are in a wilderness all alone that comes triumph and joy again. And although it has been quite a journey, I feel blessed for all the things I’ve learned along the way.
I’m so thankful that I have been learning these Loving Lessons from Connor and Bailey, my inspiration, motivation, my frustrations through the journey of parenting that help me become a better parent everyday. Daily they teach me lessons on love, patience, kindness, peace, faithfulness, joy, goodness, gentleness, and self-control.
I’m blessed to have such supportive family. A special thank you to my husband Keith, my brother Peter and his wife Elizabeth, my, Mom, and of course my heavenly brother Robert who help me be the person that I am today. Your continuous love and encouragement helps keep me going.
I’m blessed to have such wonderful friends near and far. I’m learning more and more that everyone comes into my life for a purpose, and that purpose may vary for each individual, but it is exactly what I needed in that moment, and that’s pretty amazing experience. So a big thanks you to each and every one of my friends.
It’s a true blessing for me to work the families that I do. I remember being a sleep-deprived parent and how dark of a place that can be when our baby or toddler is not sleeping. When I meet with a family and learn a little bit about their story, I’m blessed to help them get the rest they need to so that they can continue shedding their light onto their child or children. There is nothing more satisfying than hearing, “it went better than I expected,” or “I can’t believe it worked,” and hearing them delight in their child again when mom and dad are feeling rested too.
To all the parents out there, keep shining your light on your children and those around you! It will be an amazing legacy of love you will be leaving for years to come! Thank you for sharing in my blessings with me!
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16 NIV)
